Our design choice is my alternate solution 1, and the CM’s alternate solution number 1. We feel like this is the best choice for our vehicle. It had the highest score on the rationale chart as well. The treads will give the vehicle the most traction over the sand and will keep it from sinking into the sand. Also the two motors on connected to both treads will give the vehicle the most maneuverability. The wiring of the final solution is part of the kit. There will be a 7.2 volt battery that is wired to the VEX microcontroller. The two motors, the camera, and the receiver will plug into the microcontroller. The microcontroller controls the functions of the robot and is essentially the "brains" of the whole operation.
