Alternate Solution 3

          A third alternate solution is a vehicle with treads but there will be one motor attached to an axle that will power both the treads.  The treads on this have a large surface area so they will be able to stay on top of the sand and not sink or get stuck.  However, since there is only one motor powering the treads there will be no way that it can turn so it can only go straight in the direction that we originally point it.
         Since there is only one motor powering both tank treads on either side this vehicle can't turn.  A vehicle that turns is a necessity for a vehicle that can travel on dune terrain where sharp turns need to be made.
