Solution 1:
As with all the other alternate solutions the vehicle will be utilizing the VEX robotic kit's wiring schematics. The wiring comes with a controller that is mounted on the vehicle. This is basically the heart and brain of the vehicle. Everything that is electronic is plugged into this controller on the vehicle, the motors, the camera, the wireless receivers, and the vehicle's battery.
This solution uses treads to get the best possible traction in the sand. This solution has the most positive aspects and the least negative aspects. The wiring harness for the VEX robotics kit is the same for all solutions due to the fact that it is a kit. Each electric aspects of the robot plugs into a reciever which is connected to the battery that powers the robot.
This solution uses two tank treads on either side of the robot. Because of the treads there won't have to be a steering mechanism. Instead of this there will be two motors connected to each tank tread that will propel the vehicle forward. In order to turn one motor will spin faster than the other or will spin in the opposite direction, which will allow the vehicle to make a three hundred and sixty degree turn. The type of traction that we will be using is more important than the other parts on the vehicle because all the other parts in the solutions are needed.
