This must be addressed because the dunes are important ecological habitats. Also dunes contain the information about past climate. Human damage to these dunes has destroyed this information that can take scientists on a journey into the past. Dunes are important because they provide a barrier against storm waves. What keeps the dunes from eroding are the plants’ roots that hold all the sand together. In order to not damage the dunes by human activity a vehicle must be built to run tests on dunes.
